This project was about the study of understanding what makes a relationship between Humans and machines. What if we took specific trades from a dog and transferred them onto something else? In this case a lamp? Would we be able to express the same emotions only using light? And what behavioral trades would work?
By applying different sensors into a simple lampshade and providing a different means of interaction the project explored user bahaviour according to the feedback they would get.
A motionsensor registret any movement within a radius of 10m in any direction. Upon registration the light would turn on. By moving the hand up and down over the lamp the user was able to define the desired lighting output.
In the long run the lamp should be simple and without any additional box. Further it should be studied which signifier might help the user understand the product even better.
